New Circle

Pernah ngga ada di suatu circle yang isinya orang-orang yang bukan "kamu banget" gitu? Katanya, kalau mau lihat bagaimana diri kalian, coba lihat lima orang terdekat kalian. Nah, waktu itu aku ngga ngerasain nih circle terdekat aku mencerminkan diriku kala itu.

Kita flashback bentar ke tahun 2016. I joined an internship program from my Uni. There were 10 people who joined this program. I'm a kinda good to adapt with the new-life. It was easy for me to make friends with everyone. And lucky me I found close friends there. Two-people that really different from me.

They are really kind and too sensitive at the same time. Both of them were really ambitious than I'm more like "let it go-person". Both of them also really introvert and overthinking. They treat me like I'm their baby (just because I can't cross the street but hey Hanoi has a pretty chaos traffic, trust me). They were smart students in my department btw.

Jujur takut banget dulu temenan ama mereka. Takut ngga nyambung. Soalnya mereka terkenal pinter banget. Faham kan gimana rasanya ngobrol, tapi orang yang diajak ngobrol ngga nyambung? Sejak awal temenan ama mereka aku jadi rajin baca portal berita bapak-bapak. Simply cause their jokes like bapak-bapak haha.

Ternyata kebiasaan baca berita serius itu kebawa sampe sekarang. Turns out pas masuk dunia kerja, di circle aku yang baru lagi, ngga ada satu orang pun yang ngga baca Reuters. Jadi tiap pagi kita ngobrolin headline news nya Reuters. Kebayang ngga si kalo di 2016 itu aku ngga insecure buat temenan ama dua orang temen aku yang pinter itu dan aku ngga ada ide buat baca portal berita bapak-bapak tiap pagi? Mungkin aku ngga bakal ada di circle ku yang baru ini. Bakal lebih kaget saat aku masuk ke circle dunia kerja ku and think like "where am I?" "What are they talking about?".

Jadi sebenernya ketika kamu masuk ke circle baru and you think you didn't fit it, think again. Is it really didn't fit? Or you just to lazy to fit in? If there were many good things inside, why don't we join it? I believe that we can be friends with everyone. But we can choose who is to be our real "friends". Choose it wisely karena hal-hal di sekitar kita akan mempengaruhi keputusan yang kita buat! Sometimes you didn't realized but it did. Semenjak temenan sama mereka berdua, banyak banget hal-hal yang berubah dalam hidup aku (in a positive way for sure). And that brings me to another positive circle. It also helps us to upgrade ourselves and meet other cool people and so on.

We are not really close again on this day but I'm really thankful for them cause they were there during my hard time and taught me so many good things. I remember that I cried a lot at that time in front of them but they never judge. Thank you for always listening and understanding (Pegadaian kali ah)!
